The materials of tile door threshold strips
The most common materials are aluminum, stainless steel or plastic. These materials have certain advantages depending on their type. To help you decide which material is best for you, you will find some properties of the different materials below.
Aluminum door threshold strips:
Most of these profiles are made of aluminum. Due to certain surface treatments such as anodizing, they are extremely corrosion-resistant. In addition, they combine a relatively low price compared to stainless steel with high robustness. Aluminum profiles are available in various colors and surfaces. You are guaranteed to find a profile that suits you. Due to their low weight, they are also particularly easy to install and offer a long service life, even in areas with higher traffic.
Stainless steel threshold strips:
Stainless steel is the most robust option. Due to the material, they can withstand high loads. Stainless steel is also the least susceptible to corrosion. This means that they can also be used outdoors if necessary. Despite intensive use, they retain their visual elegance and are particularly easy to care for. Such profiles can simply be wiped down with non-aggressive cleaning agents.
Plastic threshold strips:
These are the cheapest option. They are usually provided with self-adhesive strips. However, you have to make compromises when it comes to durability with such strips. High stress on the profiles quickly leads to wear and tear, which means that they have to be replaced with new profiles.
Since the longevity of our products is particularly important to us, we use transition profiles made of aluminum and stainless steel.
