OTTOSEAL S100 – premium-bathroom silicone sealant

How to use OTTOSEAL® S 100 silicone for sanitary applications correctly:

The premium sanitary silicone OTTOSEAL® S 100 is easy and clean to use - for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.

Preparing the joint:

• Clean the substrate thoroughly: dust-free, grease-free and dry.
• Completely remove old sealant.
• For optimum adhesion, use OTTO Primer in accordance with the adhesion table if necessary.
• Equip the joint with suitable backfill material (e.g. PE round cord) to ensure 2-edge adhesion.

Application:

• Insert the cartridge into the suitable silicone gun.
• Inject evenly into the joint - as free of air bubbles as possible.
• Remove within a short time using a smoothing agent (e.g. OTTO smoothing agent or soap solution) and our multitool 2 in 1 Fugenfux.
• Ensure good ventilation - especially for indoor applications.

After application:

• Remove fresh silicone residue immediately with a suitable cleaner.
• Curing time depending on temperature and humidity: approx. 1-2 mm per day.
• Protect from exposure to water until skin formation is complete (approx. 10-20 minutes, depending on conditions).

Typical areas of application for OTTOSEAL® S 100:

The premium sanitary silicone OTTOSEAL® S 100 has been specially developed for use in permanently damp environments and areas subject to heavy wear. Typical areas of application are:

• Sanitary areas: Sealing of connection and expansion joints on washbasins, showers, bathtubs and toilets.
• Floor and wall areas: Elastic grouting between tiles, especially in bathrooms and damp rooms.
• Kitchen: Joints on worktops, sinks or wall connections - even with matt surfaces.
• Glass blocks & profiled glass: For elastic sealing of glass blocks indoors and outdoors.
• Design projects: Ideal for visible joints with design requirements thanks to the wide range of colours - even in modern, matt colour schemes.

Care instructions for OTTOSEAL® S 100:

To ensure that your silicone joints remain permanently hygienic and visually perfect, please observe the following care tips:

• Clean regularly: Use mild, non-abrasive cleaning agents and a soft cloth or sponge. Aggressive or highly alkaline cleaners can attack the surface.
• Prevent mould: Even though OTTOSEAL® S 100 is fungicidal, you should regularly ventilate damp areas - especially in bathrooms.
• No steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners: These can damage or remove the seal.
• Avoid mechanical stress: Cutting tools, hard brushes or sharp objects have no place at the joint.
• Remove care product residues: Residues of care products or cleaning agents should always be removed with clear water.
