Tile trims for a wide variety of uses

Tile profiles are mostly used to protect edge finishes, preventing potential damage to the tiles. However, tile profiles can be used in different ways. Depending on the type, they can be permanently installed in the tile surface or added later to the tiles or floor covering. In the following article, we would like to give you a brief insight into our range of tile profiles.

Our range of special profiles includes the following categories:

  • Height compensation profiles
  • End profiles
  • Wall connection profiles
  • Worktop profiles
  • Expansion joint profiles
  • Decorative profiles
  • Corner protection angles
  • Stair profiles
  • Transition strips
  • Flexible tile rails

Would you like a little more detail? No problem. We'll go over each point in detail again!

Height compensation profiles

Wheel rolls over sloping ramp - tile height compensation profile

Switching from one floor to another can create a seamless transition between two floor coverings of different heights with an adjustment or height compensation profile. Our range includes solutions for various applications, including wide aluminium profiles with generous tread surfaces that are particularly suitable for larger height differences, as well as narrower versions. These adjustment profiles are often used outdoors, especially at garage entrances, as they can withstand heavy loads. They enable a clean, step-free transition between different floor coverings, whether from tiles to parquet or from tiles to carpet, and ensure a harmonious visual flow.

Our aluminium height compensation profiles are available in various finishes and lengths to meet your individual requirements.

End profiles

Tile profile on a patio door that creates a perfect finish on the floor

Floor edge trims are used to neatly finish the covering and protect the edges at the same time. There are different types of end profiles for different components and materials, such as tiles, wall and ceiling coverings, stairs, windows and doors. Each profile is specially designed for its intended use and ensures a clean, secure and durable connection between components and materials. These profiles fulfil two main functions: Firstly, they serve as a decorative element, giving the floor covering a professional look and finishing edges cleanly. Secondly, they offer protection against damage and wear by providing an additional layer against impacts, scratches and moisture.

The range of floor finishing profiles includes various materials, shapes, heights and lengths to meet the individual requirements of different construction projects. Stainless steel and aluminium are common material options. The profiles are available for coverings such as parquet, laminate, vinyl, carpet and tiles. In addition, there is a wide range of tile strips, including angle profiles and square rails, which are particularly suitable for tile finishes. The selection ranges from screw-on to self-adhesive profiles.

Wall connection profiles

Connection profile on wall with accessories lying next to it

Connecting profiles, also known as coving profiles, create attractive transitions between walls and floors or between two walls. The name ‘concave profile’ derives from its characteristic feature – a concave curve at the edge. This concave curve is used to create a clean connection between the wall and floor, resulting in durable and aesthetically pleasing corner areas. The connection profile offers an elegant solution for easily covering torn, poorly bonded or discoloured silicone joints. With its stylish appearance, the connection profile opens up new design possibilities, especially when refurbishing or renovating private and commercial spaces.

In our online shop, you will find not only wall connecting profiles, but also matching accessories such as inner corners, outer corners and 3D corners. For versatile installation both vertically and horizontally, we recommend our 3D internal corners with three connections for connection profiles. To ensure a visually appealing side finish, we recommend covering the sides with the appropriate end caps.

Worktop profiles

Kitchenette with a silver tile profile to protect the edges

Worktop profiles play a crucial role in kitchens that are used on a daily basis, especially on work surfaces where cutting, washing up and cooking take place. To avoid unpleasant consequences for people and materials, we offer our worktop edge trims. With their rounded design, they minimise the risk of injury to you and your children by effectively covering sharp edges. In addition, it protects the sensitive tile covering from possible damage that can occur in the kitchen due to various stresses.

The aluminium construction of the profile ensures sufficient strength and thus offers optimum protection for vulnerable tiles and worktops against external influences. In addition to its protective function, the worktop profile also serves aesthetic purposes. It allows for various design options, whether by visually contrasting with other elements in the room or by colour coordination for a harmonious overall design.

The worktop profile, also known as an end profile, not only provides protection but also anchors securely in the tile's mortar bed for a firm hold. The profile is available in silver and titanium anodised, and we also offer matching accessories such as external and internal corners and end caps.

Decorative profiles

Shower fitting with a vertical tile profile for decoration

Today's tile decoration increasingly incorporates tile rails, and in our online shop we offer a wide range of decorative profiles in various materials, finishes and widths. Decorative profiles are the perfect way to give rooms an individual touch and create timeless elegance. In our extensive online shop, we present a wide range of decorative profiles that are available in various materials, finishes and widths. In bathrooms in particular, stainless steel decorative profiles prove to be a highlight that is not only aesthetically appealing but also impresses with its robustness.

For those looking for a more affordable alternative, our aluminium listello tile trims offer an excellent solution. With visible widths of 10 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm, they are narrower than the 25 mm stainless steel profiles. The aluminium profiles are available in various colours and finishes and can be flexibly integrated into different room concepts.

Expansion joint profiles

Two tiled floors separated by a tile profile in the middle

Expansion joint profiles are ideal for screed joints or areas where floor stresses need to be compensated. These profiles have an EPDM insert that absorbs floor movements and thus helps to prevent cracks in the tiles. As every substrate expands or contracts depending on the temperature, the use of expansion joint profiles is particularly important, especially if there are different substrates on which the new floor is being laid. During installation, care must be taken to ensure that the profiles neither protrude from the floor nor sink into it. A flush finish is ideal. To achieve this, the tile rails should always be selected 1 mm higher than the tiles.

Our range includes expansion joint profiles made of aluminium, stainless steel and PVC in various heights.

Corner protection bracket

Corner protection angles profiles live up to their name: they not only protect corners and edges, but also cover up existing damage while protecting against new damage. They are particularly useful in areas where corners are subject to heavy wear and tear, such as busy corridors or entrance areas in hotels or hospitals.

In our online shop, we offer both single-edged and triple-edged corner protection angles. Although they appear similar at first glance, a closer look reveals the additional edges. These ensure a clean finish on the wall and a smoother transition.

Our corner guards are available in stainless steel or aluminium, and you can choose between different finishes, colours and heights.

Stair profiles

Stair profiles are special moulded parts that are attached to the edges of stair treads. They are made of various materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, brass or PVC and serve both to protect against damage and to increase safety on the stairs by providing a non-slip surface. In addition, they improve the appearance of the stairs and contribute to a modern, attractive look.

The various designs of stair edge nosing trims can be adapted to different construction situations, both indoors and outdoors. Our diverse selection of stair profiles includes not only conventional versions made of aluminium and stainless steel, but also innovative options such as LED stair rails, profiles with anti-slip safety inserts and anti-slip adhesive tape. With matching accessories such as inserts and end caps, our stair profiles can be seamlessly integrated into any stair design. Whether you prefer a modern or classic design, our stair profiles offer a wide range of options to meet your individual requirements. Easy installation and the ability to cut the profiles to the desired size guarantee a perfect fit for any staircase.

Transition profiles

Two different types of flooring in the living room, separated in the middle by a tile profile

Transition profiles, also known as transfer profiles, offer an ideal solution for seamless transitions between doors and different floor coverings such as tiles, carpet, laminate or vinyl. These tile rails enable an aesthetically pleasing connection between different floor coverings, protect the edges from wear and tear, and provide a safe walking surface.

The versatile advantages of transition profiles range from aesthetic design to preventing tripping hazards by creating a level, smooth surface. They are indispensable for creating harmonious transitions between different floor coverings and can be made from materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, brass or plastic in various designs and colours.

We have various threshold strips in our range. We broadly divide transition profiles into T-shaped, flat transition profiles and multi-transition profiles. Whether self-adhesive or screw-mounted, we have a wide range of products for every construction situation.

Flexible tile profiles

Two different types of flooring separated by a curved tile profile.

Flexible tile profiles are special elements used for installing tiles on walls, corners and edges that are not straight. They are used in particular for rounded tile edges and protect their contours. Flexible tile rails are particularly useful when laying tiles on curved or bent surfaces, such as round showers, arches, columns or round walls. Unlike rigid profiles, they enable precise and clean tile laying, resulting in a visually appealing and professional finish.

The flexible tile trims are available in various designs to suit individual installation requirements. They come in different sizes, shapes and materials such as aluminium, stainless steel and plastic, offering a wide range of design options for every type of installation.
