Why self-adhesive sealing at all?
The self-adhesive sealing system simplifies the way sealing work is carried out by offering a combination of strong adhesive strength, material variety, flexibility and significant time and labour savings. With an impressive adhesive strength of over 20 t/m², the mat activates within seconds of application, ensuring an immediate and permanent bond to almost any substrate. This property makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of materials including wood, concrete and metal and ensures reliable sealing regardless of the nature of the surface.
The flexibility and stretchability of the sealing system are particularly noteworthy, as they allow seamless adaptation to the smallest unevenness and ensure a seamless seal. This adaptability eliminates the need for additional cement plaster in the bathroom area, which not only simplifies the application but also reduces the overall cost of the sealing work.
Another key benefit is the huge time and labor savings it brings. The need to use tile adhesive and water or wait for drying times is completely eliminated. The self-adhesive mat enables a quick and clean sealing process, significantly reduces the amount of work and enables tradespeople to complete their projects more efficiently and without unnecessary delays. Warpseal not only simplifies the sealing process, but also improves the quality and durability of the sealing work.
Advantages in detail
Omitting conventional tile adhesive and water not only saves resources, but also the physical effort of “lugging”.
Warpseal minimizes dust and dirt in the workplace because there is no mixing dirt. This leads to clean and efficient work phases.
Application and Compatibility

Installation of the self-adhesive sealant
- Prepare the substrate: Start by carefully cleaning the substrate. It is important that the surface is completely free of dust, dirt and loose particles to ensure optimal adhesion of the waterproofing system.
-
Apply primer: After cleaning, spray the surface to be sealed evenly with the primer . This primer improves the adhesion of the sealing material and ensures a permanent bond. Lightly spray the spray primer onto the surface to be sealed at a distance of 5 - 10 cm with the window or door open. (Observe the manufacturer's processing instructions!)
- Installing Mouldings: Now it's time to install the mouldings such as self-adhesive corners and self-adhesive cuffs . These special pieces are essential for sealing critical areas such as corners and penetrations. They provide additional protection where water is most likely to penetrate.
- Insert sealing tape: The self-adhesive WS sealing tape is now applied to the transition and corner areas using a trowel protector. The sealing tape additionally reinforces these areas and prevents moisture from penetrating through overlaps and connections.
- Laying the sealing membrane: Lay the WS sealing membrane so that it overlaps the dark yellow areas of the molded parts already installed. This overlap ensures a seamless and waterproof barrier over the entire area to be sealed.
- Finish the edge strip: Finally, seal the dark edge strip of the sealing sheet with the self-adhesive fleece strip WS. This step secures the edges of the sealing sheet and ensures complete sealing.
By following these steps, you will ensure that your waterproofing project with Warpseal is successful. The advantages of this system are its ease of use and the effective protective barrier it provides against water and moisture. Properly carried out waterproofing with Warpseal will permanently protect the building structure from damage caused by moisture.
