Areas of application for the DURAL U-profile for holding glass:

The versatile profile is primarily used in bathrooms with level-access showers. There it proves to be the ideal solution both as a glass support and as a glass guide. It ensures secure and stable fixing of glass walls and gives the room a modern aesthetic. The tileable DURAL U-rail is also extremely useful in glass construction and can be used universally, including as edge protection for glass balustrades, improving both the safety and durability of these structures.

How to install the DURAL U-profile for glass mounting:

If the profile needs to be shortened, a hacksaw or an angle grinder (use a clean cutting disc) can be used to help.

The shower area must be sealed in advance. Products for this can be found in the bathroom waterproofing category.

1. Applying tile adhesive:
   First apply the tile adhesive to the waterproofing using a 4 x 4 mm notched trowel.
2. Attaching the profile:
   The profile is now pressed into the fresh adhesive bed with the perforated fixing leg and aligned.
3. Attaching the tile:
   The tile must now be pressed into the adhesive bed with a connecting joint of 1.5 mm to the profile.
4. Filling the joints:
   Fill the free joint space with grout.

To ensure that the glass pane does not rest directly on the bare stainless steel and is firmly fixed, we recommend using silicone or inserting suitable rubber inserts into the profile. This ensures a secure and stable fixing.

Care instructions for the DURAL U-profile stainless steel:

The DURAL U-profile stainless steel tileable does not require any special care and can be kept clean by regular wiping, using only pH-neutral cleaning agents to ensure optimum care. Make sure that no aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents are used, as these could damage the surface of the profile.
