Product description

DURAL decoupling mat CI++:

The multifunctional decoupling mat CI++ offers much more than just decoupling thanks to its 3-layer structure.

With its crack bridging and optimized shear force protection, it enables tiles to be laid on damaged but still stable old coverings. Our DURAL decoupling mat CI++ also enables vapor pressure equalization in the event of moisture from behind.

This mat decouples the surface from the subsurface. Furthermore, small cracks in the subsurface are bridged and not transferred to the tile covering. This makes it particularly suitable for renovation measures.

It is even possible to cover our mat with tiles as soon as the screed is sufficiently walkable (residual moisture approx. 4%).

Applications

Areas of application for the CI++ decoupling mat:

The CI++ decoupling mat is ideal for renovating old floors in indoor and outdoor areas.

It offers an excellent solution for bridging cracks and creates a stable base for laying tiles.

This mat is particularly suitable for areas with underfloor heating. The tile size should be at least 50 x 50 mm, while the tile thickness should be at least 6 mm.

Processing

How to install the CI++ decoupling mat:

  1. Preparation of the substrate:
The substrate must be dry, load-bearing and level. In addition, leveling measures must be carried out before laying the mat.
  2. Apply thin-bed mortar:
Thin-bed mortar is applied to the professionally prepared substrate using a 4 x 4 mm notched trowel (important not to use larger notches). For most substrates, a hydraulically setting flexible mortar or fast-setting flexible adhesive in accordance with DIN EN 12004 / C2 can be used.
  3. Laying the mat:
Press the cut-to-size sheets with the fleece into the adhesive. Use a pressure roller for this purpose. Ensure that the mats are not clamped in place with a force fit.
  4. Glue over mat joints:
The joints of mats laid next to each other can be taped over with DURAL WP sealing tape, for example. Expansion joints must be made watertight with the tape in loop form.

Indoors, the tiles can be laid using the thin-bed method immediately after bonding. For this purpose, it is advisable to fill the mat recesses in one work step and then comb on the thin-bed mortar with the toothing.

For external coverings, do not start laying the tiles until the filling has hardened.
