Sealing your bathroom is crucial for protecting the structure of your home and preventing mould and damp from forming. In this article, you will learn everything you need to know about the different materials and techniques that can be used to effectively waterproof your bathroom. We will focus on the products we offer in our shop and also give you an overview of other waterproofing materials.
Sealing products in our range
Below, we present two of our sealing systems, which you can purchase directly in our shop:
Our products are characterised by high quality, easy processing and standard-compliant properties. Whether you want to renovate a private bathroom or realise a larger project in a commercial facility, you will find the right solution with us. All waterproofing systems in our range are designed for maximum reliability and offer you long-term protection against moisture and water damage. We rely on proven manufacturers such as DURAL, whose systems have been tried and tested in practice for many years. Our products are selected based on their suitability for everyday use, technical specifications and compliance with current DIN standards, in particular DIN 18534 for interior spaces.
DURAL ET-S sealing membrane

Tile coverings alone do not provide complete protection against water. Water can penetrate where fixtures meet tiles, at wall connections and in areas with joints and cracks. To provide a solution for different requirements, the DIN 18534-5 standard defines four stress classes from WO-1 to W3-1.
This classification assists in selecting suitable waterproofing materials, but often causes confusion when different requirements coincide. This is where shower waterproofing membrane ET-S comes in: a universal waterproofing system for all water exposure classes – ideal for private, public and commercial applications.
The system offers special components for various installation situations:
- Sealing membrane: For wall and floor areas, even under difficult conditions.
- Sealing tapes: For secure transitions and wall connections.
- Sealing collars: For wall outlets in various sizes.
- Moulded parts: For external/internal corners and shower/bathtub corners.
- Installation accessories: With sound insulation strips, cut protection tape and adhesive sealant.
The diverse components make DURABASE ET-S an efficient solution for the most demanding requirements.
Self-adhesive waterproofing membrane WS

With the self adhesive shower waterproof membrane, DURAL offers a quick and easy solution – no mixing of materials or application of adhesive required. The self-adhesive mat saves time and ensures reliable waterproofing.
Advantages of DURABASE WS WarpSeal:
- Time saving: No additional adhesive required, easy to use.
- Versatile application: Ideal even for difficult locations.
- No moisture ingress: Can be loaded immediately, no drying time required.
- Easy to use: Quick to install, no cleaning required.
- Long-term protection: Effective sealing against moisture and mould.
Other sealing materials
In addition to the products in our range, there are other established sealing techniques that you can use depending on the project:
Different waterproofing solutions are available depending on the location and stress class. While flexible systems such as liquid film or sealing slurries are often sufficient in residential areas, reinforced systems or combinations of several methods are frequently used in commercial areas. It is always important to choose the right material for the substrate and water exposure class. Regional climatic conditions, such as high humidity or temperature fluctuations, can also influence the choice. In addition to classic products, modern hybrid systems or supplementary products such as reactive waterproofing and mineral waterproofing mortars can also be a useful alternative.
Liquid film
Liquid membrane is a polymer-based liquid that hardens after application and forms a seamless seal. It is particularly suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
It is important to prepare the substrate: clean, dry and primed if necessary. Once dry, tiles can be laid immediately.
Sealing slurry
Waterproofing slurry is a cement-based mixture with polymer additives that creates a waterproof and flexible seal. It is particularly suitable for basements, bathrooms and balconies.
Here too, preparing the surface is crucial. After application, sufficient drying time must be allowed.
